Chemical Peel

What is Chemical Peel

Chemical peels is a procedure aimed at improving the appearance and texture of the skin. By applying a chemical solution to the skin, the top layers are removed, encouraging the regeneration of new, smoother, and healthier skin. This process can significantly enhance the skin’s overall appearance, making it a sought-after treatment for various skin concern.

Types of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be categorised into three primary types, each varying in intensity and depth of skin penetration. These include:

  • Light Peels: Also known as superficial peels, they target the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin. Light peels are ideal for addressing minor imperfections like fine lines, uneven skin tone, acne, and dryness. They offer a quick recovery time, with patients often returning to their routine shortly after the procedure.

  • Medium Peels: These peels reach the upper part of the dermis, providing a more intensive treatment. Medium peels are effective in treating more pronounced wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. The recovery period is longer compared to light peels, with more noticeable effects.

  • Deep Peels: The most intense form of chemical peel, deep peels penetrate deeply into the dermis. They are used for significant skin issues, including deep wrinkles, scars, and precancerous growths. Due to their intensity, deep peels have a longer recovery time and involve more significant aftercare.

At Beauty Blues, we specialise in providing only light peels often known as “lunchtime peels” due to the low downtime, ensuring a gentle yet effective approach to skin rejuvenation.
